It looks like Conforto is actually seeing less fastballs overall this year (56.88% in 2016 vs. 53.56% in 2017), but is likely getting a heavy dose of them in the first at-bat. Always helps to be able to “look fastball” consistently.

One other factor might be that he’s been batting leadoff for much of 2017. The first at-bat of the game especially, he sees mostly fatballs. Conforto has a much higher swing and miss percentage on off-speed pitches.
