ugh...vargas is vargas is vargas, and, yes, he will be in rotation because he is gonna earn a lot of money...frazier is frazier...a sub-average fielding third baseman who will hit .220 and 20 home runs, and he will also be in the starting lineup next year because he is getting paid too much money...neither conforto nor nimmo are true center fielders...so, who else besides austin jackson do you want out there, behind this rotation, catching the ball for them...you really want dom smith in left field? as for david wright...why should mets let a non-major league ready player step on the field so that the fans feel good, when it will cost the team almost $10 million ? let wright wait until next spring, when he has had another 5 months of rehab, to see of he truly can make a comeback...alonso is the travesty here, as he has done everything asked from him...his lack of defense is whats keeping him from being a call up? has no one seen flores or smith or bruce play first base yet? understand that front office might feel there is no future for alonso with this team, so instead of hiding his defense, one would think they will showcase his offense; then again, mets are never right about the talents of their prospects...rafael montero was a bust, but the guy who also was called up with him, and started in bullpen actually turned out to be a decent pitcher (his name is Degrom, in case you forgot)...dilson herrera was the second coming of..someone, but apparently not anyone...rosario, still could have used another year (or two) in the minors, to learn how to position himself, not swing at outside sliders, figure out where to stand to receive cutoff throws, lay down a bunt, steal a base..and that said, why should we actually believe alonso is ready to do anything at all, except hit fly ball home runs in the thin air of the pacific coast league? this is the mets...putting the fun in dysfunctional
