Thanks, Ms. Feldman, for your lovely statement. I'm very sorry that BP Mets is ending, especially for you and the contributors. I found the work all of you did to be valuable, so this is a loss for me as a reader and Mets' fan.

And please ignore any criticisms posted by social media cowards who launch anonymous attacks on editors and writers who use their real names.

No offense to those who wrote here, but I thought BP Mets diminished Baseball Prospectus's reputation for objective, professional content.

The other local BP sites may have done that too but I can only speak about BP Mets which turned into a run of the mill fan blog with all the blah, blah, blah, fan opinion, complaints - a dime a dozen.

Hopefully new BP ownership will restore BP back to its roots as respected source of minor league prospect info and projections supplied by qualified professionals who don't need to tell their own life stories, or make themselves the focus of content.

[…] But as is generally the case, talent trumps all. It’s why Reyes is still active in the majors — re-signed by the Mets after his previous team, the Colorado Rockies, had released him (more or less) on account of his suspension for domestic violence. Sara Novic, an author and Mets fan, wrote about the issue beautifully for Baseball Prospectus recently: […]

Captain David Wright: You did what you had to do for you and that is fine although you faced much criticism in the last couple of years. You are going out your way and that is what matters in the end. You were (thankfully) through the Met organization able to give it your best shot in attempting to return to the position you love but , unfortunately ,your body said no more too much was at stake for you. Know that you will not be forgotten especially by this Met Fan and possibly you will find contentment in helping future Met players reach their potential. God speed and thanks for the memories enjoy our family!⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️

If Wright thinks he can play and is physically ok, money should not be an issue. Knowing Wright he will be an asset to this team. Money is no consideration. If it is, then the Mets are making a major error in judgement
