In Episode 32 of For All You Kids Out There, we have a lot to cover as the Winter Meetings kickoff in D.C. In the first half of the show we further examine the fallout from the Yoenis Cespedes contract and what it might mean for the Mets as they head into the busiest week of the offseason. There’s also some Mets news. Zack Wheeler might be headed to the pen. Is this gonna work? There’s been some internal promotions on the player development side as well, which is the kind of thing that happens this time of year. Plus there are the Yankees and Red Sox farm systems to discuss and a new CBA to analyze.
In the second half of the show we are joined by David Roth of Vice Sports, who also conveniently happens to be the author of the Rays chapter into the 2017 Baseball Prospectus Annual (available for pre-order at Amazon.com of course). Naturally this segment goes off the rails immediately, and we end up discussing reliever facial hair, Melissa Etheridge, our Blockbuster experiences, Wade LeBlanc’s new contract, and a late breaking Nats Chris Sale trade (which Jarrett rudely interrupts are LeBlanc chat with). There is some actual Tampa Bay Rays chat in there as well.
In the third half of the show we answer your correspondence before getting distracted by a wrestling PPV that both of us forgot was happening.
